• Dueling Dubs: Two dubs were produced, both in 1993. The one from Streamline Pictures is by far the most known, but an alternate one was produced by Manga UK for the British video market. The latter was rare for many years until it was included as an alternate audio track on Discotek Media's DVD and Blu-ray releases.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: When an off-screen Makie slices a Radical vertically, Rodan's roar can be heard.
• Sampled Up: The Opening Narration of the English dub was used to preface the titular song of Perturbator's I Am The Night.
• What Could Have Been: Originally Kawajiri was commissioned to do a 35-minute OVA, but his storyboards impressed the producers so much that they turned it into a full fledged movie.
