  • Creator Backlash: While he is proud of the doors they opened for the band, Luke Haarhoff has called Lord of Plagues and Cognizant Castigation "horrible", and the band has not played anything from either release in years.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Duncan Bentley was fired after he brutally beat Thomas Hughes and severely injured him in May of 2023, though the band clarified that this was by no means an outlying event and Duncan had a long history of abusive and especially violent behavior that they had originally chalked up to alcohol, but had eventually realized was a central feature of his personality that alcohol only exacerbated.
  • Sleeper Hit: The band as a whole. Duncan and Luke started it as a bedroom project with no real expectation of success outside of South Africa, but it quickly grew from just another online project on Soundcloud and Bandcamp to their country's single biggest metal export by a very large margin, as well as one of the figureheads of the slamming deathcore style that became popular in the latter half of the 2010s.
  • Write What You Know: The core of why they made the Darker and Edgier lyrical turn on Mob Justice. As far as they were concerned, memey gore and perversion lyrics were lazy and trite, and as people who were all born and raised in South Africa, they had seen some shit and had more than enough real-life horror and nadirs of the human condition burned into memory that beat any sort of ridiculous fictional scenario they could come up with.
