• Production Posse: One of the series' selling points is multiple key staff members from Drakengard and NieR returning for this game.
• What Could Have Been: Yoko Taro revealed that he and Kimihiko Fujisaka originally pitched Voice of Cards to Square Enix as a mobile game, but Yosuke Saito and Hiroki Yasumoto managed to convince him to turn it into a paid product instead due to his existing workload and the benefits of making it a one-time purchase over a microtransaction-based game. Once the trilogy was released on both consoles and PC, the games would receive mobile ports, albeit still as full paid products except for the demo.
• Word of God: Prior to its official announcement, Yoko Taro teased The Isle Dragon Roars on his Twitter but explicitly stated that it would be unrelated to any of his previous projects (although several of the monster designs in The Beasts of Burden are copied directly from Drakengard).
