Trivia / UFO Kamen Yakisoban

Go To

  • Actor-Shared Background: Dave Spector and Kettler are both from Chicago.
  • All-Star Cast: The movie and commercials have a very big-name cast. Yakisoban is Super Sentai actor Michael Tomioka, his girlfriend in the commercials is the actress and idol Reiko Chiba, Kettler is the actor and TV personality Dave Spector, Fake Yakisoban is the Republic of Guinea Embassy diplomat Ousmane Sankhon, UFO Girl Yakisobany is the actress and singer Yasuko Matsuyuki, and in the revival commercials Hiroshi Fujioka is The Legend.
  • Demand Overload: According to Electronic Gaming Monthly's October 1994 issue, only 3,000 copies of the video game were made originally, as it was a lottery prize. Nissin received so many entries that it became a full retail release.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Yakisoban's VHS movie is long out of print, and the manga was only serialized in CoroCoro and never collected in volumes. Merchandise is also scarce, especially the top-tier lottery prizes and plushies.
  • The Merch: Tons of merchandise and tie-in products for the ads were made, including toys, tents, keychains, costumes, sleeping bags, stickers, a video game, a direct-to-VHS movie, a single on CD, a tie-in manga, and a themed attraction at Japan's Yomiuriland.
