- Ascended Fanon:
- Sharpclaw, one of the Visitors, is a creation Nick Roche's daughter came up with while watching Transformers: Robots in Disguise. She had previously shown up as a background character in the main IDW Transformers (2019) comic.
- This is also the case regarding Vex, a minor member of the Vistors who was a creation of Roche's then seven-year-old son.
- Executive Veto: According to Nick Roche, the Cluster F-Bomb was supposed to use "shit" instead of "damn". Either IDW or Hasbro told them not to use that word.
- Older Than They Think: Hot Rod/Rodimus as an aged Transformer, whose outlived his contemporaries, isn't unique to this series.
- A U.K. comic from the 80s The Transformers (Marvel) series had an elderly Rodimus Prime regaling tales of Decepticon leaders to young Autobots.
- Even IDW had a concept similar to this in the 2014 series, Regeneration Onenote where the series ends with Rodimus as the last Cybertronian.
- What Could Have Been:
- Moon's role in the story was originally meant for WaddlePop. As in, the little penguin bot who turned into an ice pop from the Transformers: BotBots franchise. Hasbro told Nick Roche they were off limits, so he chose another robot with a cute and cuddly beast mode instead. Alongside Moon, Signal Lancer, a Autobot Traffic Light, had also been considered for the role, but a traffic light was considered to be a bit too much by Roche.
- Roche originally considered using Grimlock as 'the Veteran' instead of Wheelie, but decided "his force of personality would overpower the comic".
- Speaking of Wheelie, his eloquent haiku that's just "damn" over and over again was going to be repeated usage of "shit" before either IDW or Hasbro said no.
- Word of God: According to the writer, the reason that all of the Visitors, sans The Veteran, are characters from later iterations of the franchise is to make it more likely that Rodimus never met them in person.
