Trivia items

  • Denial of Digital Distribution: Until 2018, ZUN's guidelines prohibited most digital distribution. Even after it became allowed, Touhou remix albums have to be published by a specific label. Their releases are available internationally, though they're delayed, many circles are still absent, and most of the ones who are there haven't made their full discographies available.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Most Touhou music by doujin circles has small print runs and will be lost once it ends. The digital releases help prevent this and have rescued some old albums, but this is still such a common problem that it has its own page.
  • No Export for You: The doujin CDs are only sold at Japanese events and in stores that don't ship overseas (though you can use a forwarder, and the second-hand shop Suruga-ya does ship to some Western countries). The label that distributes Touhou music digitally has begun to avert this somewhat since late 2018 by periodically releasing albums digitally on iTunes and Google Play (and later BOOTH.pm), but if you want an album from an artist that doesn't use the label, or just prefer owning physical copies in general, you'll have to import.

Other trivia

  • According to THWiki, the most arranged Touhou theme is "U.N. Owen Was Her?" with more than 3000 arrangements.

    A-One
  • The albums Practical Theory, EUROBEAT ATTACK!! 01 and EUROBEAT ATTACK!! 02 are distributed under Touhou Doujin Music Distribution despite not containing any Touhou Project material.

    Chocofan
  • Denial of Digital Distribution: The circle seems to use digital distribution primarily as a way to save albums from Keep Circulating the Tapes status once they go out of print, so if something is still in print, no digital release for you. They do upload some songs to their YouTube channel and even have a 24/7 stream of random songs, though, so you can still listen to some of their work.

    CrazyBeats
  • The releases テッペンアキハバラ, 絶対ニーハイ宣言! and 大好きリトルアキバ (all credited to Reon Kurosaki) are distributed under Touhou Doujin Music Distribution despite not containing any Touhou Project material.

    Crest
  • On iTunes, this circle's releases are listed with the releases of another group named Crest.

    Diao ye zong

    FELT
  • Rereleased for Free: In August 2020, the circle started gradually uploading its old albums to YouTube.

    Kraster/KRASTERII

  • In October 2018, former member Atsushi Haneoka started ARCARADIO, a circle that made original compositions. He then deleted most of the Kraster/KRASTERII stuff from the Kraster sites and used them to promoted ARCARADIO instead. He gave up on that project in January 2019, but the Kraster/KRASTERII stuff was not restored. A new ARCARADIO YouTube channel was created back in September 2019, and the old songs were reuploaded, but the Kraster stuff is still gone.

    R-note
  • Long-Runner Line-up: Yellow Zebra/R-note is a type 3. Yellow Zebra consisted of Ran-T, Yoshiha, Ucchii and Yuki Fujimiya from early 2007 until the circle disbanded in late 2011. Then these four members reformed as R-note in early 2012, and remained active until Yoshiha and Ucchii left at the end of 2018.

    Rolling Contact
  • Denial of Digital Distribution: For reasons unknown, their ELECTRO CUTE 4 album is not available on Spotify, even though the rest of their ELECTRO CUTE series from 1 to 5 are accounted for.

    Sally
  • The circle's last release is a single titled universe, which contains the track "universe -single ver.-". This song never got an album version.

    Swing Of the Dead
  • TOHO JAZZY VOCAL I was the only album this circle ever released.
  • The circle's name is misspelled as "Swinf Of The Dead" in the Touhou Doujin Music Distribution re-release.

    SYNC.ART'S
  • Production Posse:
    • More often than not, Gojou Kai has worked with various vocalists, with Meiko Nakamura is the most prominent contributor in his circle, followed closely with Misato, YuNa and Kaori Aihara.
    • Gojou Kai also frequently teamed up with TAM from TAMUSIC from 2005 to 2017.

    TAMAONSEN
  • The album 望痛 is distributed under Touhou Doujin Music Distribution despite not containing any Touhou Project material.
