Trivia / Total Drama: Superstar Showdown

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: The couple who formed this season were refered to as 'Schnitzel Shipping' by some of the fans. Chelsey acknowledges this in canon.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: The Wham Episode "The Fast and the Foodious" is the author's favorite chapter, and he spent months beforehand hyping it up.
  • Creator's Pest: The author admits that Trick was a poorly-handled and unlikable character, and actively tried to get him out of the story as soon as possible.
  • Development Gag:
    • Lizza and Julian, two characters who were cut from the story at the last second, end up making significant cameos.
    • Keenan, Trey's older brother who was a contestant in the early stages of Total Drama Tokyo, shows up in the family visit.
    • Similarly, Wolfgang's sister Whitney who appears in his video from home was a contestant in the author's failed Survivor fanfiction, Survivor: India.
  • What Could Have Been: This story went through many, many old drafts and elimination orders, plus the cast was changed drastically.
    • The very first draft, where the story was called "Total Drama Superstars," took place in Tiki Jungle and included five Total Drama School contestants (Gary, Alex, Devin, Meg, and Helga), five Total Drama: Tiki Jungle contestants (Nic, Arthur, Julia, Chrissy, and Elena), five Total Drama Revolution contestants (Vincent, Donny, Toad, Tasia, and Elle) and five newbies, taking place before Total Drama Tokyo was created. All of their designs were different other than Alex.
    • The theme of the story was changed as well, an early draft had it called "Total Drama 007" with contestants traveling around the world and solving spy-related mysteries. Ari and Roz from Total Drama Tokyo were planned to host before it was changed to just Roz, and a Mythology Gag referencing that was even placed in the first chapter.
    • Characters who were in the story until near the final drafts included Meg from Total Drama School, Elle from Total Drama Revolution, and Yuri and Julian from Total Drama Tokyo. They were replaced by Veronica, Lizza (who was then replaced by PJ), Flora, and Tolkien respectively.
    • Dolph was also planned to be a contestant, and was then relegated to a background role.
    • Elena was originally going to get to the final seven or so, but was booted at the end of the pre-merge for being too similar to Chelsey and Layla and exhausting to write for.
    • Veronica was planned to make it to the end instead of Flora, but their placings were eventually switched.
