Trivia / To Catch a Yeti

Go To

  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: It's Common Knowledge that the Yeti is "supposed" to be a tall, hairy humanoid similar to North America's Bigfoot. In fact, native Nepalese artwork more often depicts the Yeti as a hunch-backed monkey-like creature with a tail, not unlike the one in this movie. Grizzly even notes this discrepancy in the movie, when he suggests that the reason no one has ever found a Yeti is because they're looking for the wrong animal.
  • California Doubling: The movie was filmed entirely in Ontario with a mostly Canadian cast, but it is supposed to take place in the Himalayas and New York. Scenes taking place in New York City are clearly shot in downtown Toronto, with the interior of Union Station prominently featuring the flags of Canadian provinces and Via Rail-branded trains. The Canadian town of Uxbridge is prominently featured under its own name, but it's presented as being located somewhere in upstate New York.
