Trivia / This Hour Has 22 Minutes

Go To

  • Creative Differences: This is apparently why Shaun Majumder left the show. He sent the producers a letter suggesting that the show take a new direction in how it approached topical comedy and they dismissed him instead of taking his ideas into consideration.
  • Method Acting: The cast absolutely refuse to break character if they're out doing a field piece as one of their alter-egoes. One notable instance was when Geri Hall played a slighly insane lonely single woman when she crashed a Stephen Harper press conference. She was grabbed by security and put in handcuffs but stuck to the bit as she was being dragged away.
  • Milestone Celebration: To commemorate 22 years, the show aired a This Hour Has 22 Years special and also staged a reunion panel featuring almost every current and past cast member.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Bordering on Written-In Infirmity, Marg's first appearances had her laying in bed, as Mary Walsh was still recovering from back surgery at the time (having missed the first episode because of it).
  • Role Reprise: Alyson Court once again portrayed Loonette the Clown in this 2016 segment mocking the then-widespread clown sightings, almost a decade and a half after she left the show.
