  • Follow the Leader: Clearly following the lead of Japanese Tokusatsu productions. That said, the Shaw Brothers choreography for fight scenes runs (or kicks) circles around Japanese choreography for similar productions of the time and is impressive for a kung fu movie even today.
  • Inspiration for the Work: The villains in the film inspired Dr. Kinga Forrester and her "Skeleton Crew" from the revival season of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
  • She Also Did: Terry Liu, who played the main villainess of this movie, also played the villainess in the Shaw's prison film, The Bamboo House of Dolls, as a sadistic lesbian prison warden.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • As seen in the original storyboards and drafts, the film is supposed to contain twenty monster minions serving Princess Dragon, including a "Chameleon monster" who even got made into a suit which unfortunately didn't end up in the film. Due to budget issues, the number of monsters are reduced to seven (plant, spider, long-hair, drill, dragon-man, twin robots). Additionally, a scene of the Spider monster attacking a train is storyboarded, but never materialized.
    • Plans were made to make a follow-up film featuring a potential Infra-Woman that didn't materialize. Reportedly, the role was to be given to an American actress due to the movie's international success.
    • BraveStorm director Junya Okabe revealed on Twitter that he had pitched a remake of the film as a Hong Kong-Japan co-production.
