- The game was originally going to be about the murder of a salesman of "needful things" at a seance.
- The opening credits were supposed to show Sam (from their POV) being kicked out of their PI office by some angry townsfolk in slow motion. Sam would then arrive at Violet’s, bloodied and beaten.
