• Billing Displacement: The poster bills Pierce Brosnan and Sinead Cusack, the two bigger names in the cast, before Hill Harper and Aishlín McGuckin, who play more prominent rolls. Hill Harper is at least given the And Starring credit.
• California Doubling: Although set on an island off the West Coast of Ireland, the majority of filming was done in Wicklow, the other side of the country.
• Cast the Runner-Up: Pierce Brosnan was in talks to play Tony, but then Donal McCann came on board, and he slotted into the smaller role of Joe Brady.
• The Danza: Aishlín McGuckin plays Aislín.
• Friendship on the Set: Hill Harper and Pierce Brosnan became friends while making the film, and have remained so for twenty years. The former even named his son Pierce.
• Produced by Cast Member: Pierce Brosnan, who plays Joe Brady, also co-produced the film.
