- California Doubling: When Louis XI enters Liège (modern-day Belgium), he actually enters the fortified city of Carcassonne in Southern France.
- Dueling Works: The year 1961 was packed with Epic Movies and Swashbucklers, especially in France. In the technicolor medieval drama genre more particularly, the movie faced off against El Cid.
- Hey, It's That Place!:
- The French castle of Pierrefonds, which was used as the castle where Jeanne de Beauvais is detained. At least five swashbuckler movies starring Jean Marais (The Eagle with two Heads, Le Bossu, Le Capitan and Peau d'Âne) in addition to The Miracle of the Wolves were shot there. Much later, it would be used as Camelot in Merlin and as an "Italian" castle in the Highlander episode "Star-Crossed".
- The aforementioned Carcassonne would be used decades later for the likes of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Les Visiteurs.
- Production Posse: This wasn't the first nor the last film on which director André Hunebelle and actors Jean Marais and Guy Delorme worked. Other collaborations included Le Bossu, Le Capitan and the Fantômas film series. Stuntman and stunt coordinator Henri Cogan also worked on most of these.
