- Beam Me Up, Scotty!: A strange example. The Maxx, in his home series, never once spoke in third person. Yet, in a few crossovers, this is how he speaks.
- Schedule Slip: Happened with the Batman crossover Arkham Dreams. Issue 3 was first released in December 2018, but issue 4 wouldn't be released until October 2020. The cover of The Lost Year Compendium (a compilation of the first three issues released the previous month) lampshades this, showing Maxx and Batman standing in a black void wondering when Sam will be finished making the last two issues.
