• Adaptation Overdosed: As of 2021 the book has been adapted into a manhua and a video game, as well as:
  • Six films — 1958-59, 1977, 1978, 1981, 1993, and 1994.
  • Seven television series — 1976, 1983, 1988, 1994, 2003, 2008, and 2017.
• Completely Different Title: In Thailand, its title is Jade Dragon.
• No Export for You:
  • The series generally tends not to get brought over, but the manhua version by Lee Chee Ching has it especially bad; the French publisher Urban China, the one company that did decide to take on it, only made it nearly halfway through before publication suddenly stopped.
  • Finally averted for the English-speaking world in February 2018, when an English translation of the first out of four volumes was published, 61 years after its initial publication in Hong Kong.
