Trivia / The Goode Family

  • Friday Night Death Slot: Where the show ended up and why it was cancelled (besides the fact that most audiences didn't like or get the satire poking fun at American liberals and felt it was a carbon copy of how King of the Hill made fun of American conservatives).
  • Invisible Advertising: Being a filler program that ABC aired during the summer, a time of year where broadcast networks airs series that they have no faith in, the network barely aired promos of the series.
  • Out of Order: Neither ABC nor Comedy Central aired the episodes in the order they were produced. This led to a continuity error where the Goodes already know Mo and Trish in episode 2, and then they first meet each other in episode 5.
  • Screwed by the Network: ABC practically had no faith on this show to begin with, as it had no marketing, was dumped on Friday nights, and aired as a late-season replacement, where most shows networks like ABC have no faith in as well.
  • What Could Have Been: Comedy Central considered reviving the show after ABC cancelled it. The prime-time reruns in 2010 were a test, but low ratings prompted the network to pass on it. Plus, Mike Judge had moved on to the short-lived 2011 revival of Beavis and Butt-Head and co-creators John Altschuler and David Krinsky (who worked with Judge on King of the Hill) moved on to create Silicon Valley alongside Mike Judge.
