• Acting for Two: Mélanie Laurent plays both Anne-Marie and her mother Lea in flashbacks.
• Cast the Expert: Most of Andrej's orchestra members are played by Romanian musicians. Some of them even have speaking lines.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Mélanie Laurent only started studying violin a few months before filming. Her right hand, holding a bow, was mostly OK, but she couldn't do the required fast movements of her left hand's fingers convincingly. Because of that, her left hand was fixed later. Nobody ever notices that while watching the movie.
