Serendipity Writes the Plot: One of the biggest drains on first season's budget was the fact it was filmed in downtown LA and it required substantial effort to isolate the area around the warehouse to maintain at least an illusion of isolation. To make things cheaper and just plain easier, second season was set in Louisiana bayou due to how remote and isolated the area was by default, while adding additional challenge to the survival scenario.
