- Follow the Leader: Atom Ant was the beginning of Hanna Barbera moving from Funny Animal cartoons into super hero cartoons. Atom Ant himself clearly represents both in a mix. Atom Ant's impact on people at HB has even been name dropped by the Tremblay brothers as part of how SWAT Kats came to be conceputlized as a super hero show with talking animals.
- Atom Ant himself may have taken some cues from Fearless Fly, a segment of Hal Seeger's Milton the Monster Show on ABC.
- The Other Darrin: In season two, Howard Morris left Hanna-Barbera in a dispute. He was replaced as Atom Ant's voice with Don Messick.
