  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer:
    • In his video on the decline of Bleach, John says that Tite Kubo began to become a Lazy Artist, citing his backgrounds becoming more simplistic and less detailed as time went on as an example of the decline of Kubo's art style. While the declining quality of the art is subjective, Kubo himself said he intentionally avoids drawing backgrounds to put more emphasis on the characters. John later admitted he made some mistakes with the video, and even went so far as to eventually remake it from scratch with more accurate information, with the Lazy Artist point being one he pointed out as being a mistake.
    • In his video on the decline of The Simpsons, he brings up how Barney went from an alcoholic to a coffee drinker to bring up the Seasonal Rot the characters went through in the modern day. While Barney did go through such a change, it’s largely been abandoned nowadays and he’s still an alcoholic.
    • In his DBZ essay, he mentions that Dragon Ball was the first manga to have villains that last for an entire saga, while previous manga villains, like in Fist of the North Star, were underpowered to be defeated by the heroes. While Dragon Ball likely popularized it, it wasn't the first manga to have villains last an entire arc. Fist of the North Star even had multiple villains that would last for an entire story arc rather than being easily disposed by Kenshiro, (such as Shin, Souther, and Raoh, each of whom lasted entire arcs; in Raoh's case, he was the Big Bad of the entire story).
    • During his second Bleach video, John complains about Hueco Mundo's design, calling it uncreative for what is supposed to be a depiction of, essentially, Hell. It is actually well-established that the two are completely different places in the series world, and Hueco Mundo is specifically modelled on a different part of the Buddhist afterlife, which the series draws upon, with Spanish and Latin American culture added to give the location more of a distinct identity.
    • His Sonic the Hedgehog video has him mention Metal Sonic is from Sonic 3, all the more confusingly shown over the Mecha Sonic fight from Sonic 2. His origin is Sonic the Hedgehog CD.
    • In his video about Riverdale, he claims that Chic is Betty's half-brother and that Charles Smith is Betty's full blooded brother. Charles is actually Betty's half brother, while Chic isn't related to Betty by blood at all, and was merely taking Charles' identity.
    • During the animatic portion of Space Jam 2: How Warner Bros is Lying to You where Mr. Swackhammer is spying on Michael and Bugs through a monitor, John claims that Swackhammer was shot into the sun at the end of Space Jam 1. He was actually shot to the moon.
    • In his video on the current state of Shonen Jump in 2022, he mistakenly called Kusanagi from Doron Dororon by the name "Doron", which is actually the sound effect mononoke make then they die.
    • In "The Simpsons is Good Again", John mentions the latest seasons of the show even received praise from Dead Homer's Society, the blog which coined the term Zombie Simpsons to begin with. Except it hadn't, as the blog hadn't updated at all since March 2021, before Season 33 began airing. This is presumably the result of conflating the blog with the No Homer's Society forum, which is directly mentioned in the sourced Vulture article.
  • Creator Backlash: John's very open about his embarrassment over the mistakes in his first "Current State of Shonen Jump" and "The Fall of Bleach" videos. He goes out of his way to outline his mistakes in their sequel videos and even unlisted the original "Fall of Bleach" video to keep misinformation from spreading.
  • Creator Breakdown: While never outright said, John does explain the amount of stress and even fears of his content after the huge amount of effort and time he put in doing the Garfield video, and to say nothing about his work on his eventual Berserk video, especially considering he had to discuss the passing of creator Kentaro Miura.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: The video "Villains in Wrestling: Making People Hate You" was taken down due to a copyright claim from WWE. It eventually got back up in April 2023.
