- Reality Subtext:
- The Haunter and the Gastlys in Pokémon Tower can be seen as representation of modern day horror films and/or video games. Haunter alone is a horror connoisseur who takes scaring people very seriously, using creepy imagery and noises, Psychological Horror, Surreal Horror, and Primal Fear in his work, and tries to build tension before each scare. The Gastlys simply startle others with cheap, lame, and occasionally predictable jumpscares.
- Episode 10 featuring the Sinnoh region and having plenty of Gen IV mons appearing might have something to do with the fact Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl was just less than a month away from release at the time, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus coming not too much longer afterwards in January, which also fits considering Squirtle/Wartortle's Rage Against the Heavens goal he partakes in at the end of the same episode, indicating a potential showdown with The Original One Itself.
