• He Also Did: The writer for both episodes, Jack Pendarvis is known for adapting the stories on Adventure Time. Lost in Bikini Bottom storyboard artist Bob Camp is well known for Ren and Stimpy.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Squidward in the German dub is now voiced by Joachim Kaps, who won over Tobias Lelle, his voice actor in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, in the auditions for the show, and replaced his old German voice actor Eberhard Prüter who died in October 2014.
  • Mrs. Puff's original German voice Rita Englemann also left the show before Sponge Out of Water and is now voiced by Sonja Deutsch.
• Working Title: "Lost in Bikini Bottom" was originally titled simply as "The Shortcut".
