• End of an Age: This is the final episode (production-wise) of what fans dub the "post-movie era", "post-first movie era", or simply "the Tibbitt era" (due to Paul Tibbitt show-running the majority of episodes between The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and Sponge Out of Water).
• Missing Episode: Nickelodeon dropped the episode from regular rotation in 2015. The supposed reason why is because Stephen Hillenberg hated the episode and wanted it dropped from rotation when he returned to the show. However, the episode also came under controversy around its air date as it dealt with the controversial topic of cost-cutting employee layoffs, and some critics accused it of putting the practice in a humorous light. It eventually returned the episode in rotation in 2018, but not regularly, as Nickelodeon rarely airs the episode unless Nick is hyping a big SpongeBob event. Nicktoons regularly airs it, but not very often, either.
