Trivia / Soul Hackers

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Done in the Japanese version. Averted in the English version as Atlus USA wanted to give players an easier time on who's speaking as Nemissa and Hitomi after the latter's body is possessed.
  • Late Export for You: Neither the Playstation or Saturn versions were ever released in the West, although the 3DS remake has received an official localization in North America and Europe.
    • The sequel cellphone game, Soul Hackers: Intruders, which is set a few months after the conclusion of the original game where the group is reestablished to take on a new enemy. This wasn't released by Atlus overseas. The manga/novel versions are also not released outside Japan.
  • Recursive Import: The 3DS version added Nemechi, a special demon that lives inside the in-game menu and can be traded 3DS play coins for special currency that can then be spent on exclusive demons that can be added to the party. Nemechi can also evolve several stages, expanding the list of exclusive demons the player has access to; in the Japanese 3DS version this occurred after hitting certain numbers of streetpasses for Soul Hackers. Likely due to the much lower chance of getting any streetpass hits in the west, this was altered for localisation so that play coins could also be spent to get Nemechi to evolve, and this feature was later added to the Japanese version via a patch.
