- The Cast Showoff: The "George's Song" round, which allowed Matt Lucas to a perform an original song or a cover (which would often lead into a completely different song for laughs).
- Corpsing: Happens regularly, mostly from Vic and Bob trying to get the contestants, or each other, to crack up. The most well-known incidence, however, belongs to Matt Lucas, who began laughing hysterically roughly 10 seconds into his song about peanuts and never recovered.
- Creator Backlash: Mark Lamarr doesn't look back on his time on this show with fondness, saying it was a joyless experience because of the character he was putting on. He did, however, say that it was nice to spend the time with Vic and Bob as they're old friends.
- Creator Breakdown: According to the Shooting Stars documentary, the show left a negative impact on the personal well-being of its regulars. Original Team A captain Mark Lamarr left after the third series in fear of getting typecast and has more-or-less retired from the public eye. Regular panelist Johnny Vegas was encouraged by Vic and Bob to drink a pint on set, unaware that he was battling a pretty serious case of alcoholism, whilst second Team A captain Will Self, who was struggling with a heroin addiction at the time, privately found the duo's jibes hard to bear under his stony-faced demeanour.
- He Also Did: The series is generally more mainstream and well-known than Vic and Bob's sketch shows such as Vic Reeves Big Night Out and The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.
