Go To

  • Acting for Two: Director Aleksey Kiryushchenko appears as Vasiliy's predecessor in season 1 and has a cameo in season 2. He returns in late season 2, this time donning a mustache, as a director, possibly an Expy of himself.
  • The Danza: A good chunk of the Verkhovna Rada deputies are named after their actors.
    • Dmitro Surzhikov as Dmitro Surikov.
    • Zhanna Bogdevich as Zhanna Borisenko.
    • Vitaliy Ivanchenko as Vitaliy Romanchenko.
    • Nazar Zadniprovskyy as Nazar Dobryvechir.
  • Life Imitates Art: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who plays Vasiliy, became the actual President of Ukraine in 2019. Furthermore, a party called "Servant of the People" was formed based on the show's title to support his candidacy.
  • Newbie Boom: In the wake of the 2022 mass scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and Zelenskyy's wartime leadership, the show received a notable boost in popularity worldwide, with broadcasting rights being requested by various foreign companies. On March 16, 2022, Netflix announced that the series would be available to US streamers again due to popular demand. A couple of months later, seasons 2 and 3 were made available on the service, which were left out in earlier appearances of the series.
  • No Dub for You: The Netflix version of the show lack any kind of dub on any language. On the other hand, some regions, like the HBO Max's Latin American feed and some cable channels in Spain, offer a dubbed version in their own languages.
  • The Other Darrin: Season 2 recasts the oligarch Rustem Mamatov (who ceases to be The Faceless after this) and Vasiliy's girlfriend and the oligarchs' spy Anna. The oligarch Roizman seems to be this in The Movie, but the series reveals that the Roizman from the movie is the original Roizman's brother.
  • Unfinished Dub: The Latin American Spanish dub used in both HBO Max and the official series' Youtube channel only covers the first season so far.
