Trivia / Robert Webb

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: He absolutely despised working on Confetti. Largely because he was told his nudity would be blurred in post-production, only for it to be completely uncensored in the final cut.
  • Irony as She Is Cast: In his collaborations with David Mitchell, Robert Webb is usually cast as the confident sociable one to Mitchell's awkward social misfit. Webb has actually admitted that behind the scenes Mitchell actually tends to be the one who's more confident and natural in front of an audience whereas he tends to be more reserved, hence why Mitchell tends to do more panel shows (in which reacting spontaneously in front of a live audience is often required) than he does.
  • Money, Dear Boy: He and David Mitchell got a lot of flak for appearing in Mac and PC adverts. Webb responded by saying
"When someone asks, 'Do you want to do some funny ads for not many days in the year and be paid more than you would be for an entire series of Peep Show?' the answer, obviously, is, 'Yeah, that's fine'".
  • Queer Character, Queer Actor: Webb plays Jeremy "Jez" Usbourne who's bisexual like him on Peep Show, though Webb was not out while the series was airing.
  • Real-Life Relative: His wife Abigail Burdess played his partner or wife in one sketch on That Mitchell and Webb Look (along with many other characters) while their baby was played by the pair's real daughter.
  • Romance on the Set: He and his wife met on a radio sketch comedy show.
