• Breakup Breakout: Although he's not a superstar, Thompson is the best-known Fairport Convention member after Sandy Denny.
• Creator Couple: The years with Linda Thompson.
• No-Hit Wonder:
  • No entries on either the US or UK pop charts. He does however, have two entries on the Billboard Alternative chart ("Turning of the Tide" made #30 in 1988 and "I Feel So Good" made #15 in 1991).
  • Thompson didn't reach the Top 10 of the UK album chart until Still in 2015. It made it to #10, and also had a career high of #82 in the US.
