- All-Star Cast: The lead characters of the various storylines are played by Sylvester Stallone, Thomas Jane, Elizabeth Henstridge, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Berenger, Lauren Cohan, Danny Aiello and Kevin Connolly, with supporting roles (or just single scene appearances) by Terry Crews, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Trejo and Cary Elwes.
- Casting Gag: Once again, Thomas Jane is playing a guy who fights crime and leaves quite a bodycount.
- The Cast Showoff: Stallone doesn't just play a guy who paints in Reach Me, he does that kind of painting in his free time too. Also, Stallone designed the cover of the Reach Me book.
- Doing It for the Art: The cast were convinced by Stallone, who played a vital part in getting the movie made, to sign up for it at minimal pay rates.
- Extremely Lengthy Creation: According to director-writer John Herzfeld, he wrote the script for Reach Me in 2001 and spent the next 12 years trying to get it made.
- Playing Against Type: In a departure from his usual action hero roles, Stallone plays an online blog editor who serves as an antagonist.
- Troubled Production: During the second week of shooting the movie, an important producer, Norman Zada, pulled out and sued for the return of $1 million he had invested, leaving the film without funding. As a result, Herzfeld started a Kickstarter campaign to complete it. In order to allow for bigger contributions, the campaign was moved to Indiegogo, where it reached just over $178 thousand in less than a week (although one of the backers pledged almost $150 thousand), allowing Herzfeld to finish it. The Indiegogo pitch can still be seen here.
- What Could Have Been: Danny Aiello was originally cast as a mobster, but was eventually recast as Father Paul, a character Herzfeld and Aiello developed together.
