Trivia / Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Treasure

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Jerma voices nearly every single character in both movies, meaning this trope is about 90% of all the movie's dialogue. The only other voice actors are his friends Ster (as Dr. Digestion, a cashier, Michael's father, and the mixtape voice), Boo (as Button-Up Barry), and Ster's partner Ashley (as Michael's mother).
  • Ascended Fanon: While recording the Rats' Birthday Mixtape for Rat Movie 2, Jerma said "celebrate another, wanna birthday bash." However, everyone else heard it as "celebrating yet another birthday bash," so it has been retconned to be the latter way.
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: The abrupt ending of the first Rat Movie was due to the fact that Jerma got sick of working on it and just needed to upload something.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Jerma once planned to do a Rat Movie 3. The first concept would have involved the Rats battling over what corporate company they each preferred, complete with the idea of contacting actual companies to sponsor the video, with the ultimate moral of the movie being "Fuck sponsorships." Jerma decided not to follow through due to the legal ramifications it might present. No other ideas are known, though he did replicate the song the rats would have sung for the installment.
    • Gerrard, Guardian of the Treasure Chest of the Mayan Temple, would have appeared in Jerma Rumble - Live Action. However, Jerma couldn't find a suit of armor that both looked good and was easy to wrestle in while not costing like $700.
  • Word of God: The two thieves besides Dick "Dastardly" Richard didn't have names for the longest time, until Jerma named them Button-Up Barry and Dr. Digestion on stream.
  • Write What You Know: Jerma claims that the clown scene in Rat Movie 2 was inspired by a real event that happened at one of his cousin's birthdays: a clown was hired to entertain the kids, but ended up scaring them all instead. There was no toaster involved, however.
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: The first Rat Movie was mostly written on the spot while Jerma messed around with 3D Movie Maker. He planned out Rat Movie 2 slightly more in-depth, but not by much.
