  • Creator Breakdown: The author seemed to turn against his own work based on what he expected from his fans vs. what he got. This inevitably lead to...
  • Missing Episode: Since Ian J's and Josh Mirman's blogs have shut down a lot of pages are missing from the RPGW/Stubble crossover: Party of Terror, which can only partially be found on the Wayback Machine. Plus the whole site domain of RPGW is now up for sale. Thankfully, the whole archive can be downloaded (see the main page).
  • Money, Dear Boy: Outside of the creator's newfound love for random events humor over a structured story, RPG World may have died due to being caught up in a dispute over creative rights. Namely, the fact that Jones probably wouldn't have had any due to the fact that Keenspot turned into a full-fledged publishing house towards the end of the comic's life.
  • Schedule Slip: The fan revival was put on hiatus on November 17, 2016, when the author became too busy to continue working on the project, and was expected to only last a few months. The hiatus was extended by over a full year when the artist was hired for other works, and returned on July 31, 2018.
  • Referenced by...: Hero and Dianne cameo in an early crowd scene of TwoKinds.
  • Uncancelled: 9 years later, someone purchased the rights to the comic and is trying to finish it.
    • ...Who were eventually beaten to the punch by Ian himself, who finally finished it in October 4, 2017, in his tumblr.
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: The author offered a contest for people to write the ending for him. Most people used this to insult him in one way or another for the comic having No Ending and/or make fun of his photography (which he considered to be the best part). The contest was closed, and the last strip was a huge picture of him and a friend saying, more or less "fuck you, I'm-a go play Space Invaders" (or, rather, their speech bubbles show an hand Flipping the Bird and an alien from the game). He is quoted as saying "I don't owe you anything". Although he did later clarify that this was aimed at the Vocal Minority and not the decent majority of fans.
