Trivia / Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

• Acclaimed Flop: The film received positive reviews from critics and pretty good audience responses, but only made $1.9 million, on an unknown budget.
• Completely Different Title: The French release title is My Wonder Women (still in English, somehow).
• Dawson Casting: A 29 years old Bella Heathcote played Olive, who was only 22 when the story begins in 1928. Balanced with Hollywood Old; the story winds up in 1945, but only Marston himself appears to have aged noticeably, and he's dying of cancer.
• Fake American:
  • Luke Evans and Bella Heathcote are Welsh and Australian respectively, and both play Americans.
  • Elizabeth Holloway Marston was born on the Isle of Man with one American and one British parent, and moved to the US when she was five. Rebecca Hall also had one British and one American parent, but she grew up entirely in the UK.
• Preview Piggybacking: Trailers for this film were (quite appropriately) attached to screenings of the Wonder Woman movie.
