  • Aitran: Star Swirl's daughter Nyx is an obvious reference to the main character, but the only thing the characters share are the name, similarly dark colors, and the wearing of vests. The Nyx of Aitran is a unicorn and has a personality that's virtually the opposite of Pen Stroke's Nyx.
  • All-American Girl (Shinzakura): After Luna conquered the Tantabus, she and Twilight came across a sick unicorn filly who Twilight refers to as "Nyx" because she looks like Luna.
  • In the 15th chapter of The MLP Loops, Nyx begins looping as the only explicitly fan-made Looper in The Infinite Loops, with various references made to the events of the story itself.
  • Pony POV Series: While looking into the Gate of Truth, Applejack catches a glimpse of the timeline that Past Sins takes place in. Celestia also mentions it while talking to Twilight about how Discord was raised by Shady.
    But remember, these ponies had no idea who Discord was before this and to Shady, Discord was her child, no more different than any other no matter how he looked. In fact, in another world I've seen in the Truth, you did much the same for a foal born of Nightmare Moon's power, seeing her not as the Nightmare my sister became but an innocent little child...Yes, Twilight, you were a very good mother.
