- Actor Allusion:
- This isn't the first time Keith David has voiced a magical cat.
- Peter Gadiot says he actually played a genie before in a pantomime of Aladdin.
- Fake Brit: While Sophie Lowe (who plays the British Alice) was born in Yorkshire, her family is Australian and she identifies as such.
- Fake Nationality: Peter Gadiot is Ambiguously Brown enough to play a character descended from an actress of South Asian ancestry (Zuleikha Robinson). He is part Dutch and part Mexican.
- Older Than They Think: Of a (presumably unintentional) sort. This isn't the first time that Jafar has tried to take over Wonderland.
- The Other Darrin:
- The Caterpillar was voiced by Roger Daltrey on Once Upon a Time. Here, he's voiced by Iggy Pop.
- Naveen Andrews would later be recast with Oded Fehr in the parent series.
- Promoted Fanboy: Sophie Lowe says that Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was her mother's favourite book when she was a child.
- Screwed by the Network: The latest show to march bravely into ABC's long-cursednote Thursday 8pm timeslot, one where it has to deal with The Big Bang Theory and The X Factor. Also the latest that won't be marching out - it debuted to a mediocre 1.7 Adults 18-49 rating, and cratered to a 1.2 in week two. ABC has admitted that they screwed up with the scheduling (it was, at one point, intended to fill Once Upon a Time's slot during its midseason hiatus, where it would have had a built-in audience). However it was always intended to be a one season show from the start, with additional seasons being possible if the show was a success. Episode 13's promos officially refer to it as the series finale.
- What Could Have Been:
- It was rumored that Paul Reubens would voice the White Rabbit. He was ultimately voiced by John Lithgow.
- According to Sophie Lowe, Emma Rigby auditioned for Alice before she was cast as Anastasia.
