- One might not be surprised to find out that the director of this series (Taku Sugiyama) and character designer (Isamu Kumata) also made Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for the same animation studio the year before. Like Sandy, Alice in that series has an anthropomorphic, talking animal companion (Benny Bunny).
- Cheryl Chase, who would later go on to voice Angelica Pickles in Rugrats, played Pinky in some early English-dubbed episodes.
- Arisa Andou, the original Japanese voice of Sandy, would go on to have voice credits in a number of adult anime, including the Cream Lemon series. Her other noteworthy mainstream role was as Kyoko Fubuki in Plawres Sanshiro.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Only about half of the show received an official English VHS release, however all of the episodes are easily found on Youtube thanks to home recordings. Japan got both a VHS and DVD release in the original Japanese language, but have long been out of print. The series is available for streaming in Japan (which is upscaled) but only if you live in Japan with a Japanese Credit Card.
- The Red Stapler: Along with Adventures of the Little Koala, this show was created due to a surge in demand for koala-related media after a zoo in Tokyo received some koalas as a gift of goodwill from Australia.
