- Development Gag: The cut hero Bombineer is retooled into a villain in the webcomic, who appears in Becky's backstory and is given a reason for his absence in the game.
- Dummied Out: Bombineer was intended to be one of the heroes Crow had to fight while escaping with one of the princesses, though he was ultimately cut from the final product. His reverse boss fight still exists within the game at the end of the Adept Co. level, but you fight Mack instead of him.
- Refitted for Sequel: Some of the characters that were scrapped from the game show up in the webcomic sequel, such as Bombineer, albeit as a villain instead of a hero now.
- Sequel in Another Medium: The game was later followed by a webcomic of the same name, taking place after the events of the game.
