  • Ascended Fanon:
    • Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich was a very popular ship in the community. This episode officially makes the couple canon.
    • Making Twilight's alicorn body big like Celestia's has been a thing the ever since the Twilicorn news came out. It's now canon in here.
  • Content Leak: The Dutch version of this episode was released in mid-August accidentally by a Netherlands station (along with the remaining episodes of the season), which was quickly taken down. The English dub was eventually leaked on September 4, a month before its official airing.
  • Meaningful Release Date: This episode broadcasted officially on October 12, 2019, a mere two days after the first episode's airing back in 2010.
  • Short Run in Peru: The last several episodes of this season, including this episode, aired early in Ukraine on September 25, 2019 on PLUSPLUS. The episode was also released on the same day to nc+ GO's on demand service in Poland.
  • Shrug of God: A Q&A with Big Jim Miller on Twitter revealed that a lot of things were intentionally left vague:
    • Many speculated that Luster Dawn was Starlight and Sunburst's daughter. While Jim doesn't consider her as such, preferring to see her as an Audience Surrogate, he states that writer Josh Haber does.
    • The writers were toying with the canonical confirmation of ships such as Appledash (Applejack x Rainbow Dash), Yonabar (Yona x Sandbar), and Fluttercord (Fluttershy x Discord). Ultimately, they decided to make the moments in question more ambiguous, to allow fans to come to their own conclusions.
    • Whether or not characters who didn't appear in the episode after the Time Skip were dead, Miller said that just because someone didn't appear doesn't mean they're dead.
    • A lot of "what happened to [Character X]?" questions either never got an answer from the crew, or Hasbro never approved an idea that used them. As such, Miller said that it's up to the fans to decide.
  • Word of God: Lil' Cheese, the feminine-looking foal of Pinkie and Cheese, is actually male.
