• Ascended Fanon: Doctor Whooves, a fan name to the stallion due to the resemblance to David Tennant's Doctor Who character, is actually called out by that name, the first time in the series. A past appearance only gave credit as "Time Turner" or as "Doctor". While other official media has played with "Doctor Whooves", this marks the first time in the show. "Octavia", which was also a fan name that got applied to official merch, and has been used for credits in "Slice of Life", is also named for the first time in the show.
• Recycled Script: The episode is very similar to "A Matter of Principals" — Starlight takes over (or is going to take over) the school and feels she needs some help, so she looks at hiring some, but a friend of hers who insists on being allowed to partake too stresses her out and causes trouble.
• Short Run in Peru: The episode was aired early in China, well ahead of its US air date, along with the other post-hiatus episodes of the season.
