Trivia / Mozart!

Go To

  • Bad Export for You: Not to the point of "Blind Idiot" Translation, but the English versions of some songs are... uh... not exactly Tony/Olivier Awards material.
  • Creator Cameo:
  • Fake Nationality:
    • From the DVD:
      • Oedo Kuipers (Wolfgang Mozart) and Ana Milva Gomes (Baroness von Waldstätten) are Dutch, while their characters are German. note
      • German-born Mark Seibert plays the Austrian Hieronymus von Colloredo.
    • As for the original 1999 production, you have Nordic actor Yngve Gasoy-Romdal play the titular role.
  • Filmed Stage Production: The 2015 Vienna revival was filmed and released on DVD, and so was the 2015 Toho production.
  • Only So Many Canadian Actors: An All-Star Cast gives the DVD this trope, but any big-name production of German/Austrian theatre tends to have this anyway. Examples include:
    • Tanz Der Vampire: Thomas Borchert (Leopold) and Mark Seibert (Colloredo) were Counts von Krolock in the same production (2017 Vienna revival). Barbara Obermeier (Nannerl) was Sarah Chagal to Seibert.
    • Elisabeth: Borchert and Seibert were Deaths, the former in the early run of the show, and the latter starting with the 2012 tour. Outside of the DVD, original Colloredo Uwe Kröger was the first Death. Some Rudolfs went on to play Mozart, for example Thomas Hohler and Gernot Romic.
    • Legally Blonde: Ana Milva Gomes (Baroness von Waldstätten) and Barbara Obermeier were, respectively, Paulette Bonafonté and Elle Woods.
    • Schikaneder: Exceedingly Hilarious in Hindsight as Schikaneder himself appears in Mozart, and Mozart himself is The Ghost in Schikaneder. Mark Seibert goes from Mozart's patron (Colloredo) to Mozart's collaborator (Schikaneder). Martin Pasching plays Schikaneder in Mozart! and Schikaneder's best friend Benedikt Schack in Schikaneder. Florian Peters, as noted in the YMMV tab, plays Mozart and Johann Friedel, who elopes with Eleonore Schikaneder. Franziska Schuster is Mozart's wife Constanze and Eleonore Schikaneder's best friend Barbara Gerl.
  • Star-Making Role:
    • Oedo Kuipers in the 2015 revival. Previously a swing cover in the 2015 Hamburg revival of The Phantom of the Opera, he was so determined to get the role that he spent a lot of money on voice lessons. note
    • In 2002, 19-year-old singer-songwriter Akinori Nakagawa made his acting debut as Mozart, a role which he reprised several times. He has since gone on to become one of the top stars of Japan's musical world, winning awards for his performance as Frankie in Jersey Boys, and creating the role of Cesare in Cesare - Il Creatore che ha distrutto. "Boku koso Music" ("Ich bin Music") is still one of his signature songs, and it always features in his concert tours. He even once performed a medley of "Boku-myu", "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You", and Cesare's "I Want" Song.
  • You Look Familiar: Cäcilia Weber's husband and "friend" are played by the same actor.
