• Fake American: American Mick St. John and Beth Turner are played by Australian Alex O'Loughlin and British Sophia Myles respectively.
• Screwed by the Network: Reportedly, the series was not cancelled due to low ratings. Rather, one of its producers, Joel Silver, got into a heated argument with CBS president Les Moonves on a golf course and Moonves decided to cancel the show out of spite.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Mick St. John was originally named Mike Angel, but it was decided bore too much similarity to Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (especially considering Angel is also a largely heroic Vegetarian Vampire detective).
  • The series was originally called Twilight, but it was changed to Moonlight to avoid confusion with the popular vampire series of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.
  • Shannon Lucio was considered to play Beth Turner.
  • Rade Šerbedžija was considered to play Josef Kostan.
  • Amber Valletta was considered to play Coraline DuVall.
