• Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: In 2019, a Tumblr user made some pretty serious allegations of child trafficking and sexual abuse against Mitski, which were all generally perceived as fabricated. Eventually, Mitski had to come out and publicly deny the claims made against her. The accuser was found later on to have early onset psychosis and had been experiencing severe delusions. This ordeal led Mitski to wipe her social medias for a period of time and keep herself at a distance from fans.
