• The Cast Showoff: Thalia sang the novela's opening song, and also sang during the show.
• Cult Classic: The greek dub of the telenovela eventually became one in its country of broadcast, no thanks to the scripts being translated very literally producing so bad it's good dialogues, the voice cast's corny and hammy deliveries even on the simplest lines and Soraya's greek voice actress bringing her already hammy performance up to eleven.
• Dawson Casting: María, Soraya, and Luis Fernando were played by the same actors even after 20 years had gone by on the show. Thalia first appears as María as a 15-year old when she was 24 at the time and Itatí Cantoral first plays an 18-year old Soraya at 20 years old. They don't even bother changing other characters' appearances.
• Referenced by...: In Blue Beetle (2023), Milagro makes a joke how her brother, Jaime, is Maria, and Jenny Kord is the rich white dude offering a job. In the next shot, their grandmother is watching the telenovela.
