Trivia / Mamamoo

Go To

  • Childhood Friends: Hwasa and Wheein grew up in the same city, and their friendship began in junior high, long before their time together in Mamamoo. Explained in detail by the two of them here.
  • Corpsing: Their goofball antics are sometimes too much, even for themselves.
    • In Impretty Rapstar, the girls can be seen fighting back laughter several times during moments that were meant to be more serious.
    • Wheein and Hwasa both failed to keep composure during this cover of "Imitation" by Um Jung Hwa.
  • Creator Backlash: With the release of "You're the Best", Mamamoo would "spotlight"note  as an adlib during their performances, but during an interview on Cultwo show, the girls have said that they've grown incredibly tired of it and they hope to not do it during their next comeback because they are almost always asked to do it.
  • Dye Hard: All of them have had an unnatural hair color at some point:
    • Solar has only just recently begun dyeing her hair with mote prominent colors, having debuted with chestnut brown locks and maintaining various shades of brown all the way until “Yes I Am” promotions when she cut her hair shoulder length and dyed it pink. Once the promotions for “Starry Night” and “Egotistic” began, she kept her hair a honey blonde and wore long, wavy extensions. Recently, she’s returned to her signature dark brown hair as of December 2018.
    • Hwasa is hugely known for this, having had light brown hair at the time of debut, platinum blonde, orange/red, blue, honey blonde, dark brown, and, as of December 2018, black hair.
    • Moonbyul’s hair has been famously blonde, but was black at debut, red, ash blonde, blue, blonde with blue tips, silver, brown, and dark brown, as of December 2018.
    • Wheein also had various shades of brown, blonde and black. Much like Solar, she’s not known for dyeing her hair often. As of December 2018, however, you can catch her sporting blonde hair.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: MooMoo
  • Throw It In!: A trademark of nearly every Mamamoo live performance is them changing up some part as a shoutout to the show they're performing on, the gimmick for that stage, current events, or to their fans.
