• What Could Have Been: At the end of volume 1, Konayama mentions that they had originally envisioned Mogumo as an annoyingly cutesy Genki Girl who had black hair and pink highlights, but couldn't come up with a good reason for why this character would want to be an otokonoko. After doing some research and learning more about the term non-binary, Konayama decided to mix the research they did with the story they were currently working on, changing Mogumo's personality to what it is now, and their hair color from black to white.
