• Author's Saving Throw: The author has been known to tweak things in response to reader feedback. For example, after a commenter expressed displeasure with Alice rebuking Lelouch for potentially endangering Nunnally by walking into a Trap Is the Only Option scenario in Chapter 71, the author tweaked the dialogue for Lelouch to remind Alice that he wants to protect Nunnally more than anyone, emphasizing that he wouldn't have chosen this plan if he didn't think it was necessary, which causes Alice to back off and apologize. He also modified the boys' Accidental Pervert moment well at a Ryokan Inn, in part because it amounted to Milly intentionally setting the boys to get beaten up by the girls.
• Word of God:
  • The author has admitted that he really gets annoyed by stories where Lelouch gets the aid of Jeremiah much earlier than he did in canon, as Lelouch barely seemed to recognize Orange-kun at the beginning of the story, and having Jeremiah change sides so early feels rather forced. He then added that he was fine doing this in his story because the Metaverse provided a plausible way for Lelouch to ascertain where Jeremiah's loyalties lie much earlier than he did in canon.
  • The author also gave notes regarding why he had each character have the religious views that they do in-story (Lelouch being atheistic, Kallen following the Shinto pantheon, Leila being Catholic, and Shirley being protestant) and how they relate to each character's virtues and personalities.
