Trivia / LarryBoy: The Cartoon Adventures

Go To

  • Acclaimed Flop: Unfortunately became to downfall of the series. According to Phil Vischer on his blog, parents and fans of the series complained that it looked cheap and it looked like something similar to "Powerpuff Girls" that they can watch on cable television instead.
  • Creator Backlash: Some of the staff like Tim Hodge stated that the series was somewhat an experiment they tried out, but didn't become what they wanted. It is most likely because of it that the characters in that show never appeared in the main series, but it seems by 2021 that the staff are open up on bringing the characters into the main series.
  • Exiled from Continuity: Possibly due to it being a separate continuity from the main Larry-Boy videos and due to how the series failed, many of the original characters never appeared in the main series. However, this was overturned in 2021 as Awful Alvin and Lampy appeared in the The VeggieTales Show.
  • Pop-Culture Urban Legends: For years, a set of extended lyrics for the show's theme song circulated around various websites on the Internet, which people believed was a hoax until the full version of the theme song showed up in December of 2020.
  • Screwed by the Network: When aired on SAT-7 Kids in the Middle East, they never aired reruns and pulled it from their schedule immediately after the show's final episode was aired.
    • When the show originally aired on the qubo Saturday Morning block on NBC (as well as on Ion and Telemundo), it had a pretty chaotic airing schedule. Mainly because it was paired up with 3-2-1 Penguins!, note  which had more episodes than LarryBoy did, and therefore they had to share timeslots. Weekly, the first three episodes of 3-2-1 Penguins! were aired first, then came the three episodes of LarryBoy, after that followed two more episodes of 3-2-1 Penguins!, following that would be the final episode of LarryBoy, and then came the last (direct-to-video) episode of 3-2-1 Penguins!. Finally topping off the "cycle", was LarryBoy and the Bad Apple, split in two parts, and an episode that was basically a compliation of the 3-2-1 Penguins songs. After that was aired, the cycle would repeat continuously until the fall season of 2007, when 3-2-1 Penguins! aired a new season, thus containing new and even more episodes. This was also when Qubo updated their schedule, and while many sources say LarryBoy aired on the block until September 2009, which WAS when VeggieTales left Qubonote , no official schedule archive claims that the show was seen again during the September 2007-2009 period.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the LarryBoy Story Treatment that was included in "LarryBoy and the Angry Eyebrows", there were some changes from the original source that didn't made into the final:
      • The series was actually meant to be in the same continuity as the main LarryBoy series from VeggieTales.
      • Awful Alvin was originally going to be an avocado.
