- Development Gag: You know it's a Continuity Reboot when they name the lead character after the man who played the original Kamen Rider, Hiroshi Fujioka.
- Role Reprise: Of the first seven Rider actors, Hiroshi Fujioka (Takeshi Hongo / Kamen Rider #1) and Toru Okazaki (Daisuke Yamamoto / Kamen Rider Amazon) were the only ones not to return at all in this show.
- What Could Have Been
- Series producer Toru Hirayama offered the role of Hiroshi to former child actor Mitsunobu Kaneko of Giant Robo fame but declined citing his need to work at his job.
- In reaction to declining ratings, a ninth Kamen Rider, named Kamen Rider V9 ala Kamen Rider V3, was originally planned to be introduced within this series as an additional hero to Skyrider similar to Rider 2 and Riderman. Ultimately, however, the return of the Seven Legendary Riders in the second half successfully increased viewing figures, thus the ninth Rider was remade to succeed Skyrider in a new show, becoming Kamen Rider Super-1.
