Trivia / Iron Butterfly (Band)

  • Creator Backlash: The band wasn't so fond of Scorching Beauty, and it wasn't helped by the fact that it commercially bombed. After its release they never played any songs from it live again.
    • Same with Sun and Steel.
  • One-Hit Wonder: "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", after it was edited into a single. note
  • Throw It In!: "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". The take that was featured on the album went on so long because they were waiting for the producer to show up, and kept playing for 17 minutes. The producer decided that they didn't need to do another take.
  • What Could Have Been: They were booked to play Woodstock and were on the original poster, but they got stranded at LaGuardia Airport. Their manager rudely demanded impossible amenities and he was literally told "fuck you" by the organizers. Had they played, they would have made more money off their performance than The Grateful Dead, Santana and Joe Cocker did combined.
