• Actor Allusion:
  • Penny is now played by Tara Strong, who previously played Agent Heather, an Expy of Penny, in the spinoff series Gadget Boy & Heather.
    • Also in a bit of a meta-sense. Penny was once played by Cree Summer. Both Tara and she have worked on a lot of productions together and are friends in real life. So this was a bit of Passing the Torch in a way.
  • In the episode "Forever MAD", Talon complains about some problems with song lyrics for their fake Broadway show. His voice actor, Lyon Smith, would know a thing or two about having trouble with lyrics, having previously voiced the lead in Grojband.
• Channel Hop: In Canada, the series aired on Teletoon for its first two seasons, but moved to Family Channel starting in the third season.
• Cross-Regional Voice Acting: The show generally features Toronto-based actors like Lyon Smith, Katie Griffin, Martin Roach, and Derek McGrath, but the California-based, Toronto-born Tara Strong voices Penny Gadget here.
• Mythology Gag: A possible one—Gadget's magician name in college was the Great Gadgetini.
• Real-Life Relative: In the French dub, Gadget is voiced by Antoine Durand. His father (the late Luc Durand) was also the voice of Gadget in the French dub of the original series.
• Saved from Development Hell: There were plans for a Continuity Reboot as far back as 2009.
• What Could Have Been:
  • As mentioned on the Trivia page for the original series, there was going to be a reboot back in 2009, which fell into Development Hell. It was going to be Darker and Edgier with a more Animesque art style and feature Gadget fighting ghosts.
  • Also the show's theme song would have been similar to the original theme. However, due to the legal issues, the producers couldn't use the original theme at all, which is really sad, given that brentalfloss was going to be the composer. He even explained it in this video.
