Trivia / I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

  • Reality Subtext:
    • Subject-wise, 1981 Extended Play and Razzmatazz were largely inspired by Dallon's move to Los Angeles, which he found alienating as he had trouble adjusting to its culture, which largely seems to get on his bad side. While LA is never namedropped, the themes of resentment towards sycophancy, excess, and selfishly destructive hedonism are pervasive.
    • The video for "Leave Me Alone" was filmed during the thick of the COVID-19 Pandemic and features the band being held in a sterile quarantine chamber, though monitored for temporal fluctuations instead of viruses. Dallon himself noted the timely nature of this direction and how it neatly coincided with the song's themes of distancing yourself from toxic situations.
  • Release Date Change: Razzmatazz was briefly delayed from its intended October 16th, 2020 release date to October 23rd due to an unspecific COVID-19-related matter. To compensate for this, the band chose to release the song "New Invention" early in October 1 to keep fans occupied. Unofficially, Dallon claims that they intended to have new music released even earlier, but it kept getting pushed back.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Ryan Seaman was officially fired from the band in September 2023, with Dallon citing "a series of broken trusts" as the reasons why. While not explicitly so, this move seemingly confirmed several major allegations against Seaman from earlier in March, where members of the touring band, Dallon's wife, mother, close friends, and even loose associates like Ronnie Radke of Falling in Reverse claimed that Ryan had secretly signed himself up as the owner of Dallon's songwriting loyalties, and had stolen $26 thousand before he was caught.
  • Throw It In!: The bridge of "Gloomtown Brats" has Dallon sing the lyric "Blue-blooded fantasy / Apocalypse, vanity", while the official lyric video says "Apocalypse, of vanities". As pointed out in the lyric video itself through an additional subtitle, "I sang the wrong lyric here, but it felt good, so I kept it."
